A four-day, annual music festival, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, is produced and developed by Superfly Presents and AC Entertainment. The festival has been held in Manchester, Tennessee, on a 700-acre (280 ha) farm called Great Stage Park since its first year in 2002. On the second Thursday of June, the festival usually begins and lasts four days. The event occurs every year except in 2020, when it was canceled due to COVID-19, and in 2021 when water from Hurricane Ida inundated the campground.
Live music is featured on multiple stages in distinct genres, including indie electronic, pop, reggae, gospel, folk, country music, bluegrass, Americana, jazz, hip hop, world music, rock, classic rock, and other alternative styles.
Concerts begin Wednesday evening for early arrivers, and they continue throughout the festival, starting around noon each day, with some stages hosting performances until dawn. Rolling Stone magazine ranked the festival as one of the “50 Moments That Changed Rock & Roll” in 2003, Consequence of Sound named it “The Festival of the Decade,” and GQ named it one of the Top 10 Festivals.
